Pаul аnd Delbert were bоth 18-yeаr оld freshmen males at State University. Bоth Paul and Delbert wished to date an 18-year old freshman female named Barb. Paul was a large, muscular, athletic Physical Education major and Delbert was a rather small non-athletic chemistry major. One day, Delbert saw Paul speaking with Barb as they both sat on a bench outside on a concrete sidewalk next to a lawn. Delbert wanted to embarrass Paul in front of Barb so Delbert crept up from behind the bench, and sliding beneath the bench untied Pau’s shoelaces and then tied them together. When Paul stood up to walk away, the fact that his shoelaces were tied together caused him to trip and fall forward on to the concrete sidewalk. In the process of falling, Paul’s sunglasses came out of his pocket and were broken when they struck the concrete walkway. In addition, as Paul fell forward he landed on one of his knees causing him to rip his pants ruining them. By this time, Delbert was standing nearby and began to laugh out loud. Realizing what had happened, Paul took his shoes off and began to run toward Delbert. Being scared of Paul who was much larger and stronger, Delbert tried to run away. However, Paul quickly caught up to Delbert and grabbed him by the collar of his shirt from behind. Paul lifted Delbert off the ground and carried him into an alley which contained a large trash dumpster. Paul threw Delbert into the trash dumpster and closed and latched the lid. Delbert became very scared inside the dumpster and began to cry and shout to be let out of the dumpster. The custodian heard Delbert and unlatched and opened the lid of the dumpster releasing Delbert. Fully discuss all intentional tort causes of action available to Paul against Delbert.
