Excessive absence will be reviewed by the program faculty and may result in the student being unable to progress in the MLT program. Missed Laboratory Sessions:Missed laboratory sessions will not be recreated for you to perform at a later date. Remember that you must demonstrate all competencies in order to pass the class. Please attend scheduled laboratory sessions so that you can be successful in the MLT program. If you are absent for any in-person session for any reason, you will receive a zero (0) for professionalism for that day as professionalism cannot be assessed. Late Work Students are expected to have assignments submitted on or before the day they are due unless otherwise stated. Students are expected to take tests/quizzes on or before the day they are assigned. Points will be deducted for late assignments and late tests. If one day late, then 20% of the total possible points will be deducted. If more than one day late, then no points will be awarded and a 0 will be entered as a score. If you believe you have a special circumstance preventing you from completing an assignment or test/quiz, or have problems with an assignment or test, please let the instructor know immediately. You are expected to communicate your needs to your instructors as they arise. Campus Closures Due to Weather and Other Emergencies In the event the campus is closed, students should check Canvas for updates and announcements from their instructor. If the College’s physical campus locations are closed due to inclement weather (commonly referred to as “snow days”), students should sign into their Canvas course shell and expect to learn from home on that day. If the content cannot be adjusted for distance learning, the faculty member will communicate such to the students. Personal Electronic Device Use You are encouraged to bring your personal electronic device for in-person class activities only, and as directed by your instructor. In order to promote an inclusive, safe, and optimal learning environment for everyone, unrelated web browsing, texting, or social media will not be tolerated. If you need to text or take a phone call, please make sure that your device is on silent and you leave the room before responding.
