In Sоphоcles’ Oedipus Rex, in whаt sense mаy Oedipus be regаrded as a better man, thоugh a less fortunate one, at the end of the play than at the beginning?  Be sure to give specific evidence of Oedipus’s character at the beginning and at the end of the play.  Specify scenes and line numbers when referring to the play.  Use actual thoughts or action from the play to support your answer along with your own inferences about Oedipus’s change.  YOU MUST USE DIRECT REFERENCE FROM THE PLAY.  When referencing from drama, you give act, scene, and line numbers of quotation in parenthesis followed by a period.  Example:  (l.l.13-16).  However, Oedipus Rex has only one act so just give line numbers (lines 4-8).
