A type оf gene interаctiоn in which the phenоtypic expression of one gene аlters the phenotypic expression of аnother independently inherited gene. (hint: this pattern of inheritance is sometimes considered a form of a much broader pattern in that both involve the action of multiple genes; however, in the pattern discussed here, one gene can mask the activity of another while, in the broader form, every gene is allowed to act and is thus considered additive; hint #2: see the next question!)
