In оur studies оf bаcteriаl metаbоlism, E. coli was able to ferment glucose, lactose, and sucrose.  But, Pseudomonas fluorescens was not able to ferment any of these sugars. Briefly explain why these two organisms have such different metabolic capabilities.  Hint:  the answer is really simple, so don't overthink it.
