This is not optional and will result in a grade of zero on the exam if it is not done or not done properly. The recording should show that you are sitting at a table or desk that is clear of all items except the computer you are using to take the exam. Your entire desktop should be scanned. The room should be well lit, quiet, and there should not be anyone else in the room.
