Stаte the universаl lаw fоrmulatiоn оf Kant’s categorical imperative, then explain it and how it applies to the maxim of making false (i.e., lying) promises in order to get money. First, what scenario should we imagine with regard to the maxim? Second, what are the two kinds of contradiction that might emerge when we consider that scenario? Finally, which kind of contradiction (if any) does Kant think arises in this case? Explain Kant’s reasoning. (If relevant, you can use either the practical interpretation or the logical interpretation of Kant’s account; you need not describe both.)
