Wаshingtоn Oceаnic Wаter (WOW) desalinates and bоttles sea water. The desalinated water is in high demand fоr a large group of environmentally conscious people. The company recently discovered that it could sell the sea salt as a byproduct. During March, WOW processed 1,600 gallons of sea water and obtained 1,200 gallons of drinking water, and 150 pounds of sea salt (the rest of the sea water evaporated in the desalinization process). Processing the 1,600 gallons of water costs WOW $2,000. During March, WOW sells 850 gallons of the desalinated water in 1-gallon containers for $6 per container. In addition, WOW sells 120 pounds of sea salt for $1.15 per pound, which is representative of the value WOW normally receives for the sea salt. Due to the relatively small proportion of sea salt, WOW has decided to treat it as a byproduct. WOW had no inventory of sea water or sea salt at the beginning of March. Required: answer the following two questions. Each question is worth 15 points. (15  points) The amount that WOW should report as their total revenue during March assuming a) these are the only two products sold and b) the by-product (sea salt) is accounted for using the sales method is:  [answer1] (15  points) The amount (rounded to the nearest cent) that WOW should report on their financial statements as the March ending finished goods inventory balance for their desalinated water product using the production method is: [answer2]
