Questions

Whаt is the nоrmаtive premise in the fоllоwing аrgument? Some people argue that if more immigrants are allowed into the country, some will go on welfare, increasing the tax burden for everyone.  But unrestricted immigration is like unrestricted birth.  Both increase the number of people in the population and in both cases some of those people will go on welfare.  We would consider it wrong to restrict women's freedom to have children merely because of concerns about the welfare state.  Why wouldn't that same kind of principle apply to immigrants?
