Ann, аn аssistаnt оffice manager at Acme Inc., is given the task tо lease one copy machine from iCopy, Inc.  Ann, using Acme’s computer, enters iCopy’s website icopy.com and places an order with the electronic agent taking orders for the website.  The lease is for three years at $500 per month.  Acme has a purchasing policy that restricts Ann’s purchasing ability to a maximum of $500.  Ann enters the necessary product code and description, the name of the corporation (Acme Inc.) and her position, mailing address, and Acme’s debit card information, and other data necessary to place the order.  When the electronic form prompts Ann to enter the number of copy machines she is ordering, Ann mistakenly types in “10.”  iCopy’s electronic agent places the order and ships 10 copy machines to Acme Inc.  When Ann receives the 10 copy machines, she rejects the copy machines and sends a note to iCopy stating, “Sorry, there has been a mistake.  I only meant to order one copy machine, not 10.”  iCopy debts the monthly fee of $5,000 from Acme’s bank account the first month.  Acme cancels that debit card.  When iCopy bills Acme Inc. for the 10 copy machines, Acme refuses to pay.  iCopy waits for two months before advertising the specific machines for lease.  iCopy leases the copy machines for $500 per month for three years.  iCopy sues Acme to recover the leasing fees for 10 copy machines.
