Cаse #6: Tаmmy Pаtient Prоfile: The patient is a 48 year оld female, 5'6'', 150 lbs. Blоod pressure today is 182/112. Pulse is 68. No significant medical history, other than she has an ester allergy. She is not taking any medications.  Chief Complaint: "My gums bleed especially in the back. I haven't been to a dentist or physician since 2012." Clinical Findings: Periodontal assessment reveals 4-6 mm pockets, moderate bleeding on probing, furcation involvement. She has limited ability to open her mouth due to TMD problems. Diagnosis: Generalized Stage III Periodontitis Grade B (no grade modifiers), Caries Controlled, Deposit 3 Supplemental Notes: All pockets 4 mm or greater require local anesthesia for root planing (pulpal and soft tissue). Periodontal therapy will begin today.
