Yоur respоnse shоuld be аbout 375 words (or 1.5 pаges).  Remember to only use your textbook.  Otherwise do NOT use the internet, AI, or аnything else.  In Chapter 4, under the Agents of Socialization section, your textbook discusses how families, school, and peers influence us.  In a paragraph each, explain why they are so important, using the textbook.  Then give examples from your own life of how these agents of socialization were or were not as impactful as the textbook suggests. For families, consider that sociology says that it is the most important agent of socialization, the one that affects us the most and influences us first and longest. For school, consider how it teaches us rules to prepare us for life in the future. For peers, consider how we are able to build relationships without the same influence family had in our early years of life and how important peers typically become when we are teens. Citing the text for the writing assignments in this class Since you are only referring only to the textbook for this writing assignment, you do not have to put a works cited or reference page at the end, and you do not have to put the author then the page number in parentheses at the end of the sentence (just the page number in parentheses will be fine). Or, if you don't have page numbers, you can just put the section number or title.  I just want you to practice quoting and paraphrasing the textbook, and I offer this brief explanation to help you to avoid plagiarism (for this class only).  If you would like to use the proper format and do a works cited page that is fine too. If you want to quote directly from the textbook, an example might be: The Structural-Functionalist approach defines a dysfunction as "any social pattern that may disrupt the operation of society" (12). In college, you should really only quote the book when the book says something in a way that you would not want to change. Otherwise, you should try to summarize the ideas in your own words, which is paraphrasing: Structural-Functionalists use the term dysfunction to describe something that happens in society that disturbs the functioning of society (12).
