During а spill cleаning оperаtiоn in a creek near the San Antоnio River, a vacuum truck from the San Antonio River Authority pumped 30 m3 of a mixture of water and diesel. The mixture was stored in a tank on top of the vacuum truck. The tank is 3 meters high and was filled to capacity. After one hour, water and diesel separated, with one fluid sinking to the bottom and the other floating to the top. Answer the questions: 1) What is the absolute pressure in kPa at the bottom of the tank, knowing that diesel occupies 10% of the total volume of the tank? 2) Which fluid sank to the bottom? Water or Diesel? The specific weight of diesel is 8,440 N/m³.
