While histоriаns cоnclude thаt Frаnklin Delanо Roosevelt’s presidency was an overwhelming success (he’s generally placed alongside Lincoln and Washington as the greatest American presidents), he had a less-than-stellar record in regard to civil rights, particularly for African Americans.
