Current Event оn Legislаtive Bill The fоllоwing videos mаy help with with your understаnding of our Legislative Branch for the purpose of this assignment: The Bicameral Congress: Crash Course Government and Politics #2 How a Bill Becomes a Law: Crash Course Government and Politics #9 This process of "Federalism" is often initiated by the policies created by our legislative branch. In the United States, we have a bicameral legislature made up of a U.S. House of Representatives and a U.S. Senate. In order for policies to be signed into law (or vetoed) by the President, a legislative bill must be passed by both chambers in Congress.  Locate a House or Senate Bill of interest to you that has been passed by either the U.S. House of Representatives or U.S. Senate since November of 2018. Provide a brief summary of the bill you locate and a brief explanation of why that bill is of interest to you. Bills that originate in the House are labeled HR, Bills that originate in the Senate being with the label S.  In your summary, please make sure to answer the following questions: Why is is of interest to you? Which chamber was the bill passed in (House, Senate, or both)? Which standing committee introduced the bill? Was it signed into law by the President? Was the bill voted on along partisan lines (all Democrat vs. all Republican), or were members of the two parties able to negotiate this bill? Summarize a current event that discusses the bill choose as your topic. It MUST fall into the above-referenced time frame, and could be from one of the following sources: New York Times, Washington Post, NBC News, Fox News, CNN, ABC News, CBS News, Wall Street Journal, The Guardian, Politico, The Daily Beast, Vox, The Monitor, San Antonio Express News, Houston Chronicle, Christian Science Monitor.  The short videos referenced above may help explain how the legislative process works, so that you can answer the required questions.
