Bаllistic Stretching-

Scenаriо: Equаtiоns thаt will be useful/ needed:  BMI = weight in kg / height in m2 1 MET = 3.5 mL.kg.min Karvоnan HRmax: 220- age Treadmill walking equation: VO2 = (0.1 x speed) + (1.8 x speed x incline gradient)+ 3.5 1 L O2 = 5 kcal A 54 year old, 220lb man with a BMI of 27kg/m2 and a non-exercise VO2 estimated VO2max of 20 mL.kg.min has had a quadruple bypass and pacemaker surgery and just finished his cardiac rehabilitation program. At the end of the program, he was able to work for up to 20 minutes at a time at an intensity of 4 METS using a recumbent bike and 3 METS walking on a motorizedtreadmill. He has not participated in resistance training for over two years. He has an office job where he sits for the majority of his day and has complained about a sore back and neck. While he does not have any lower body injuries, he has mild to moderate ankle edema from his heart condition and considers himself “clumsy”. For your response:- Write an Exercise Prescription for this individual to work at a VO2 of 18mL.kg.min and 1% incline gradient (provide him the intensity in METS and %HRmax) if he were to complete a treadmill walking program. --> this will require you to translate VO2 to METs and HR equivalents after calculating speed of walking at 18mL.kg.min Include how long (time) he would be walking, how many days per week, and how many calories he is expected to burn during each session. (complete general recommendations for first 4 weeks of CRF exercise, i.e. the same intensity, time, and days per week can be assumed to be completed for 4 weeks based on initiation stage CRF recommendations) Include a starters resistance training program that would be appropriate for someone with a history of cardiovascular disease/surgical intervention as well as one appropriate flexibility and balance exercise for him. Elements required: CRF, RT, Balance, Flexibility
