As the sоldiers оf WWII returned frоm the bаttlefield аnd reintegrаted into civilian life, the government strove to provide new benefits that previously had been unheard of. Many scholars attribute this new robust government assistance to the gains of the New Deal legislation and the belief that the federal government needed to be more involved in the economic engine of the country. The GI Bill included many programs to assist returning Americans. One of the most important to many Americans was the VA loans which made suburban life possible for many. "Redbook made this film to convince advertisers that the magazine would help them attract the white suburban consumers they desired. The 'happy go spending, buy it now, young adults of today' are depicted by the film as flocking to the suburbs to escape global and urban turmoil."
