Questions

Hоw is Streptоcоccаl A Meningitis reported in ICD-10-CM?

Chооse ONE оf the following two essаy prompts to аnswer (you will lose points if you try to аnswer both.) Please break up your answer into different paragraphs when necessary. It should be easiest to make a new paragraph for each part of the essay question. So regardless of which prompt you choose, you can give one paragraph to explain the ethical theory, the next paragraph to explain one objection to that theory and a final paragraph to respond to the objection you raised. First, explain hedonistic utilitarianism. This will involve explaining what consequentialism and utilitarianism are generally, explaining what makes this particular version of utilitarianism “hedonistic”, and explaining how the right action is calculated according to the hedonistic utilitarian (discuss total utility!). Second, you then need to explain one objection to hedonistic utilitarianism of your choosing. It can be any objection discussed on our slides or in our readings. Outline it carefully, explaining how exactly it is supposed to challenge the truth of hedonistic utilitarianism. Thirdly and lastly, respond to the objection you’ve discussed on behalf of hedonistic utilitarianism. Try to take up the perspective of a hedonistic utilitarian and defend hedonistic utilitarianism from the objection you just raised for it. Make sure your response handles the objection without abandoning any of the central claims of hedonistic utilitarianism. You are allowed to use responses given in the lecture or reading (if any were given for the objection you’re discussing). Just be sure to explain the response in your own words. First, explain Kant's deontological theory of ethics. This will involve accurately explaining the two formulations of the Categorical Imperative given in the lectures in some detail. Please use a simple example to explain the universalizability formulation (you may choose an example from the readings or lectures and put this in your own words). Secondly, choose and carefully explain one of the objections to Kant's theory mentioned in the lecture. Thirdly and lastly, respond to the objection you raised for this essay on behalf of Kant. Try to take up the perspective of a Kantian and defend Kant's theory from the objection you just raised for it. Make sure your response handles the objection without abandoning any of the central claims of Kant's theory. You are allowed to use responses given in the lecture or reading (if any were given for the objection you’re discussing). Just be sure to explain the response in your own words.
