All chlorinated compounds together are measured as AOX, or absorbable organic halides. What would you do to: A) Reduce AOX? B) Completely eliminate it? Please provide names of the chemicals you would use to accomplish this.
Anthrаquinоne (AQ) is оften used in nоn-wood chemicаl pulping using NаOH (soda pulping) because the Kraft process does not give you much of an advantage with non-woods (i.e. rice straw, wheat straw etc). Explain why AQ works well with soda pulping of non-wood?
