Whаt cаn we leаrn abоut a culture by reading its stоries and literature? Using examples frоm the stories we have studied this semester write two or three paragraphs explaining what we learn about an individual culture by reading its stories and books. Be sure to include specific examples from the stories to support your answer showing some of the things we learn by listening to (or reading) what the poets and authors have to say. For example: "Thoreau's book Walden shows us how 19th century Americans looked to nature and its importance to their lives. As cities grew and industrialization took over, people like Thoreau looked increasingly to nature for understanding our world, for rejuvenation, and for recreation." I would then go on to use specific examples from Walden to support my thesis of what the book teaches us about 19th century America.
