The exаm cоnsists оf 40 multiple-chоice questions аnd you hаve 120 minutes to complete the exam.You need to complete the exam in 1 sitting; you cannot save and complete it later.Please make sure you have a good Internet connection before opening the exam. You only have 1 attempt, no multiple attempts are allowed.Make sure to download and enable HONORLOCK Extension.It is not an open-book exam, you are just allowed one page (back and front) cheat sheet and a couple of scratch papers to solve the problems.You cannot use your notes, paper book, or access ebook on the Cengage website.

Twо thоusаnd yeаrs аgо, the ancient Maya developed one of the most advanced civilizations in the Americas.  The Maya developed a social hierarchy with a king at the top supported by a noble class of warriors, scribes, and priests. Most Mayan people were commoners, involved in agriculture and construction.  The Maya were deeply religious, and worshiped various gods related to nature, including the gods of the sun, the moon, rain and corn. The Maya developed long distance trading networks with other Mesoamerican people. Stepped pyramids commanded city centers along with expansive royal palaces. The Maya developed a written language of hieroglyphs and invented the mathematical concept of zero. With their expertise in astronomy and mathematics, the Maya developed a complex and accurate calendar system.  Mayan cities featured temple-pyramids, palaces, ball courts, and grand plazas.    Most of the great stone cities of the Maya were abandoned by A.D. 900, however, and since the 19th century scholars have debated what might have caused this dramatic decline. QUESTIONS: 1. What were the characteristics of Mayan civilization? 2. What conditions may have led to their decline?   Your answer must be in your own words and must be supported by specific information from the reading.  Your answer must be a minimum of 75 words.

They can be: Letters or diaries Government or religious documents Speeches  Personal narratives or memoirs 4. Annotations: For each source, answer the following questions: What is the title and date of the document? Who is the author?
