Chаrlоtte Chаndler grаduated frоm her fellоwship in Neonatology last week. The second patient of her career is a 2-day-old jaundiced newborn weighing 4 kilograms with no other apparent problems. The baby's bilirubin level at 24 hours was 14 mg/dL, and the baby was transferred from the Easy-Delivery Women's hospital to the Children's hospital, where Charlotte attends patients. The baby's mom is 35 years old and has no history of transfusion. She delivered her son at 41 weeks gestation. This is her first baby (G1P1). Her initial prenatal T&S indicated that she is O positive and her ADT was negative. A recent T&S (performed during her admission to the hospital before giving birth) revealed the same information as her prenatal Type and Screen (O positive with negative ADT). The results of her baby's initial cord blood testing (performed at Easy-Delivery Women's hospital) are below: ABO Forward Forward Reverse Reverse Anti-A Anti-B A1 cells B cells 2+ 0 NT NT Rh Anti-D Anti-D Anti-D Anti-D D Control D Control D Control D Control IS 37 AHG CCC IS 37 AHG CCC 0 0 0 2+ 0 0 0 2+
