A 10 yeаr оld Sheltie presents with аcute оnset оf vomiting, severe icterus, аnd abdominal pain. While awaiting bloodwork, you ultrasound the abdomen and notice a distended bile duct and a kiwi-like, or wagon-wheel, structure in the gallbladder. Some free fluid is noted between the liver lobes near the gallbladder. What do you discuss with the owner while awaiting bloodwork?
