To do this, they wish to conduct a study that compares a new fertilizer to agricultural plots with no fertilizer (control). The USDA selects 50 agricultural plots across the state of Mississippi and divides them into treatment groups (n1 = 25, n2 = 25). 25 randomly selected plots receive the fertilizer treatment, while the remaining 25 plots are randomly selected to serve as a control. At the end of the growing season, the team measures the amount of soybean seeds collected from each plot. Knowing this information, answer the following two questions. What are the experimental units (sample units) in this experiment? Why does this not qualify as a randomized block design?
