A 61-yeаr-оld femаle pаtient requires treatment fоr оesophageal candidiasis. They are prescribed fluconazole 50mg capsules at a once daily dose of 200mg for a total of 14 days. Her serum creatinine is found to be 132micromol/litre and her weight is 58kg. An extract from the SPC for fluconazole 50mg capsules is given below: Extract from SmPC  Renal impairment Estimated creatinine clearance should be calculated using the following equation: Constant: 1.04 (women); 1.23 (men) The daily dose (according to indication) should be based on the following table: Creatinine clearance (ml/min) Percent of recommended dose >50 100% ≤ 50 (no haemodialysis) 50% Haemodialysis 100% after each haemodialysis How many fluconazole 50mg capsules should the patient be prescribed for 14 days of treatment?
