From the left side, a wire connects to a horizontal resistor labeled R sub 1 equals 8 ohms, then branches up and down to two resistors: R sub 2 equals 6 ohms on the top path and R sub 3 equals 12 ohms on the bottom path. These branches rejoin and connect to a resistor labeled R sub 4 equals 2 ohms on the right side before returning to the battery.
