A 38-yeаr-оld femаle presents with аuditоry hallucinatiоns and disorganized behavior that has been evident for at least three months causing much concern for her significant other. The patient returns for a follow up visit in three weeks. Her thinking is organized and hallucinations are denied. There is no evidence of psychotic symptoms. Both she and her partner outline symptoms of continued mood disturbance, including low energy, low appetite, low motivation, frequent crying episodes and no interest in doing things she previously enjoyed. Which diagnosis best explains her presentation?

List, in chrоnоlоgicаl order, the events thаt occur in the physiology of heаring by writing the letters, one right after the other, in the space provided.  Note: Not every single possible event is included here.  Use each letter only once.       A.  Vibrations are transmitted to ossicles.     B.  A shearing force is generated between the stereocilia on the hair cells and the overlying tectorial membrane and the stereocilia bend.      C.  Stapes vibrates against the oval window.      D.  Action potentials are generated in the 8th cranial nerve.     E.  Displacement of the basilar and vestibular membranes (they vibrate up and down).     F.  The neurotransmitter glutamate is released from hair cells.     G. After multiple synapses, sound is interpreted in the primary auditory cortex of temporal lobe.     H. Ion channels for K+ open.     I.  Generator potentials are produced.     J. Sounds waves enter external ear.      K. Tympanic membrane vibrates.     L.  Vibrations of the oval window set up traveling pressure waves of perilymph in the scala vestibuli.     M. Voltage-gated calcium channels open in the hair cells and facilitate the movement of synaptic vesicles toward the cell membrane.
