Additional vertical zero-slope lines appear at regular intervals to the left and right of the y-axis. As x increases, the slopes oscillate in a repeating pattern: positive, zero, negative, zero, and positive again, with the steepest segments occurring midway between consecutive zero-slope vertical lines.
