Essay: Over the course of this semester, you have examined how psychological research has influenced the legal system, including topics such as eyewitness memory, interrogations and confessions, jury decision-making, forensic assessment, and other issues at the intersection of psychology and law. Reflect on your experience in this course. In your essay, address the following: Identify the topic you found most interesting or impactful and explain why it stood out to you. Discuss at least two empirical research findings (cite appropriately) that you encountered during the course related to that topic. Summarize the major findings or implications and explain how they contributed to your understanding of the topic.Support your discussion with specific examples from the course and integrate the research into your analysis rather than simply describing the studies. Explain how the research changed, reinforced, or challenged your previous beliefs about the legal system or the role of psychology in legal decision-making. Finally, describe how you expect to apply what you learned in your future career, education, or everyday life.
