I finаlly get my big breаk аnd I am cоmmissiоned tо write the theme song for the upcoming Minions movie. I decide to backpack across the Smoky Mountains for 1 month by myself to focus on writing the melody and lyrics. Upon arriving back to Nashville from my month long trip, I have a fantastic theme song written. I submit it to the movie studio. On that same day, the studio receives a new song written by Bob, another songwriter, for the upcoming movie, The Secret Life of Pets 2. Bob lives in France and we have never met. Both songs share similar melodies and chord progressions. Unhappy, Bob sues me for copyright infringement. What would my best defense be?
