Attendance will be taken at the start of each class. Excessive absences (2 absences beyond the allowed limit) will result in a lowering of your grade and may result in disciplinary action as decided on a case-by-case basis. When you have missed half the class meeting days, you will fail the class.Hybrid Courses: Allowed absences – 2; Failure because of absences – missing half the class meetingsStudents are not counted absent if they are participating in an OC-sponsored event, or absent for medical reasons. If a student misses class for medical reasons, they must provide documentation as proof. It is the responsibility of the student to make arrangements with the instructor to turn in assignments missed during excused absences. Assignments missed during unexcused absences cannot be made up.As this is a hybrid course, part of your grade also depends upon your participation in the discussion board engaging your peers & responding to prompts and questions I post for you. Engagement is more than a response to someone that says “me too,” or “I agree.” You need to fully respond.
