Scenаriо:A 19-yeаr-оld suspect is tаken intо custody by Oceanside Police for questioning about a series of robberies after he is identified in a photo line-up by witnesses. Officers handcuff him and drive him from his home to the police station.  Detectives then interrogate him for 90 minutes without advising Miranda, but he is not handcuffed and is told he is “free to leave" and that he will not go to jail today.  After he confesses, detectives formally arrest him, Mirandize him, and ask him to repeat the confession, which he does. The male is booked into county jail. Question: Analyze whether the first and second statements are admissible. Discuss custody, interrogation, voluntariness, and whether officers violated his constitutional protections.
