Debbie is а 45-yeаr-оld pаtient whо presents tо Physical Therapy with low back pain that started seven (7) weeks ago. The patient does not recall any trauma or a specific event that preceded the onset of pain. Pain level is reported as 5/10 at rest, and 8/10 with movement, on the numerical pain scale. Her pain is localized in the lower back with radiation to the buttocks bilaterally. The patient has a history of previous low back pain that resolved within a few days. The current pain is interfering with daily activities. She also reports that hot soaks in the bathtub decreases the pain, but this is temporary lasting 1-2 hours. Patient describes having an active lifestyle prior to this LBP including regular exercise. The patient reports having had a complete physical exam about six (6) weeks ago and was told all was fine, but she is very worried that the doctor missed something and this pain may be indicative of a serious health problem.
