Freewrites аsk yоu tо respоnd in writing to prompts. Throughout the course, these prompts will vаry in nаture and are designed to help you generate ideas and explore your own thinking. In other words, what do you think and why?As with so much of the writing we do in our class, there is no "right" answer. A successful response is one that shares and explores your ideas. This is an informal writing assignment. It is NOT AN ESSAY so you do not need to include a formal introduction or conclusion; you can jump right into your ideas. While I'm less concerned with grammar and punctuation (and more concerned with your honest responses to the text and to the questions), an average reader should be able to understand what you've written. Freewrites are marked Complete (1), which indicates that the student's original response fully responds to prompt and is submitted by due date or Incomplete/Not submitted (0), which indicates that the student's response does not respond to prompt and/or does not reflect the student author's original, unassisted thinking. To be marked complete, you must:Write at least 250 words (for reference these directions are approximately 100 words long; typically a double-spaced page is approximately 250 words)Directly address the prompt throughout your writingFreewrites can be attempted ONCE and cannot be submitted late.
