Questions

A fаrming cооperаtive needs tо determine which grаin storage structure to build. They are considering two designs: Structure A - Inverted Truncated Granary (Truncated Cone): The truncated cone is the shape of a traditional cone with a certain portion removed. The theoretical height from the point to the base is 13.9 m with a radius of 3.66 m. The truncated portion is 3.11 m high from the point to the base with a radius of 0.88 m. The design is inverted to maximize grain removal. Structure B - Traditional Silo (Cylinder with Hemispherical Dome): The traditional silo features a cylindrical main section with a radius of 2.43 m and a height of 8.21 m. Atop this cylinder sits a hemispherical dome with the same radius of 2.43 meters. This design is simple, but wants to maximize the storage The cooperative plans to store primarily wheat, which has a density of 770 kilograms per cubic meter, though they may also store corn at 720 kilograms per cubic meter. The foundation and floor of either structure can safely support a maximum loading of 450,000 kilograms without risk of structural failure. What is the amount of force that the mass of the grain is exerting on the floor.
