Dispatch reports that additional information is not available due to the caller being confrontational and non-cooperative. The caller identified themself as the patient's spouse. Temperature outside is 15 degrees F. Skies are clear.Roads are coated with a slight surface frost.Dispatch provides additional information that the pt. is obese, non-ambulatory, and currently on the floor. No trauma or injury is suspected.SceneThe patient presents awake and alert, sitting in a tripod position with rapid respiratory rate and accessory muscle use.Initial impression indicates no signs of illness, or presence of potentially infectious substances.On secondary assessment, the BP: 150/94; HR: 100; SpO2: 90% with labored ventilatory effort.SOP’s indicate the need to administer a medication to this patient. The paramedic is handed a medication and begins to inspect the package / container for the drug name; concentration; integrity; expiration date; and sterility.
