(18 pоints) Fill in yоur respоnses to the questions thаt follow in the text box below. Mаke sure to thoroughly аnd directly answer each question and sub-question asked.  In chapter 4 we discussed the agency problem. Answer each of the following questions about the agency problem, particularly as it relates to a business environment.  Sam and Pete opened a specialty coffee shop in Saint Louis, Missouri. It was a big success, so they decided to open coffee shops in several other cities, including Kansas City. They hired Wendy to manage the shop in Kansas City, but due to Sam and Pete's travels they are unable to closely monitor Wendy's performance. Sam and Pete are considering two different sets of performance evaluation measures to use for evaluating Wendy. Sam would like to evaluate Wendy based on customer surveys about customer service and the cleanliness of the coffee shop. Pete would like to use the profits of the coffee shop in Kansas City to evaluate Wendy. The accounting information used to compute the Kansas City store’s profits is provided by that store’s accounting system. a. For each of the two performance evaluation measures (from above),     (1) identify and explain how the measure motivates Wendy (in other words, what is she motivated to do when evaluated by that specific performance evaluation metric) and       (2) at least one action that Wendy can take to make the performance evaluation metric look better while also hurting the company. b. For each of your two responses to question a2 (from above), identify and explain one way that Sam and Pete can control Wendy’s desire and/or ability to optimize the performance evaluation metric while also hurting the company.
