Questions

In а specific breed оf cаttle, а single gene cоntrоls muzzle (nose) pigmentation. The black muzzle allele (M) shows incomplete dominance with the pink muzzle allele (m). Heterozygous individuals (Mm) have a "dusky" (greyish-pink) muzzle. A second gene controls coat color. The red allele (R) and white allele (W) are co-dominant. Heterozygous individuals (RW) have a "roan" coat (a mix of red and white hairs). A rancher breeds a dusky-muzzled, roan bull with several dusky-muzzled, roan cows. Over several years, the rancher records the following phenotypic ratio in the calves: 24 black muzzle, red coat : 51 dusky muzzle, roan coat : 25 pink muzzle, white coat Part 1: Based on this observed ratio, are the two genes linked? [blank1] Part 2: If they are linked, what way are the alleles of the two genes linked? [blank2]
