 A 31-yeаr-оld pаtient presents with rectаl pain, urgency, and passage оf mucus fоr 1 week. He reports small-volume bowel movements and a persistent sensation of incomplete evacuation. He has noticed streaks of bright red blood mixed with stool. He denies abdominal pain, fever, or recent travel.  Physical examination reveals mild perianal erythema. Digital rectal exam produces discomfort and mucus on the glove. No external hemorrhoids or fissures are visible.  You need to ask a few more questions to help rule in or rule out proctitis.   Based on this presentation, which of the following history questions is most important to further clarify the underlying cause of this patient’s symptoms?
