All of these reactions can influence the symptoms and illnesses associated with stress. The body's reaction to stress is thought to contribute to such symptoms as headaches, upset stomach, and insomnia among others. In the long term, stress can be a factor in more serious illnesses, for example, cardiovascular disease.
