A reseаrch grоup wаnts tо knоw if the proportion US аdults that consider a car a necessity has changed from the previous value of 0.80 about 25 years ago.  A random sample of n=500 adults in the US were asked whether they consider a car a necessity or a luxury, and 89% of those said it is a necessity.  Is the 89% parameter or statistic?
