Is there а relаtiоnship between diаstоlic blоod pressure and LDL cholesterol levels?  To answer this, I randomly chose 100 measurements from a National Center for Health Statistics data set*.   The linear correlation coefficient between LDL cholesterol levels and diastolic blood pressures is 0.197. The mean LDL cholesterol was 113.8 mg/dL and the mean diastolic blood pressures was 71.0 mm Hg.  The linear regression equation for the data is LDL = 75.1 + 0.54(DIAS), using LDL and DIAS instead of y and x. Is there sufficient evidence of a linear correlation between LDL cholesterol and diastolic blood pressure?  Use a 0.05 significance level and thoroughly support your answer using the table below.  Find the best prediction of LDL cholesterol if a person has a diastolic blood pressure of 82 mm Hg.  Do not round. *Actual data listed in the 5th edition of your textbook from the National Center for Health Statistics.
