Chооsing а Tоpic From one of the two files аttаched here, choose ONE of the poems and compare it to the short story in that file. You see two files attached below: Topic 1 and Topic 2. Topic 1 contains two poems and a short story. Topic 2 contains two poems and a short story. Your job is to choose a topic and write about the short story and ONE of the poems (whichever one you like the most or feel you can write about most effectively in comparison with the short story). Topic 1 Topic 2 The topic of the comparison: You need to find the argument or theme in both texts (the poem of your choice and the short story). Remember that literary texts make points or claims (arguments) through literary elements like events/plot, setting, major theme or minor themes, characters, style (including figures of speech, imagery, even the way characters speak). These are the elements you will be exploring. Find the main argument in each and see how the two main arguments compare to each other. The texts have some obvious similarities, but do they make the same point or different ones?
