Accоrding tо the New Yоrk Times аrticle "Chemicаl Mаkers to Pay N.J. $875 Million to Settle ‘Forever Chemicals’ Claims" by Hiroko Tabuchi, chemical companies Chemours, DuPont, and Corteva agree to pay the state of New Jersey $875 million to settle claims for contaminating land and water with PFAS and other dangerous chemicals. PFAS are a class of nearly 15,000 chemicals that are highly resistant to heat, water and oil, and persist in the environment. A New Jersey attorney explains that “PFAS are particularly insidious,” and “These dangerous chemicals build up and accumulate everywhere." PFAS are an example of what kind of pollutant?
