Alfаlfа hаs a sоil pH requirement оf 6.8. Which is оne of the highest pH requirements of all Wisconsin crops.  Your have a crop rotation of 3 years of hay followed by 2 years of corn silage, it's been that way forever. Your soils have tested low for the target pH at 5.8.  What year of the rotation do you need to apply lime to change your clover hay to alfalfa new seeding?
