Cоnsider the fоllоwing аrgument. Then, indicаte whether the isolаted sentence taken from the argument should be divided into the two underlined separate claims when mapping.“Many people allow their emotions to influence their beliefs. Is this an acceptable practice? Well, if an emotion concerns what we hope will be the case then it might not be realistic. After all, what we hope will be the case sometimes isn’t the case. And if an emotion concerns what we fear will be the case then it might not be realistic. After all, what we fear will be the case sometimes isn’t the case. Any given emotion concerns what we hope will be the case or it concerns what we fear will be the case. Consequently, no emotion is realistic so emotions are likely to give us false beliefs. We want our beliefs to be true because true beliefs are more likely to be useful. If you’re around a cat or a dog long enough, you start thinking of it as a little person and you attribute to it all sorts of very human thoughts and emotions. You think that the dog is worried or that the cat is indignant, and as soon as you do that, it’s natural to attribute distinctively human moral standing to the animal as well. Paragraph 3      Is it correct to believe that nonhuman animals have rights? Let’s reflect on it a bit. If nonhuman animals don’t have souls then they don’t have intrinsic value, and if nonhuman animals don’t have intrinsic value then they don’t have rights. It follows from this that if nonhuman animals don’t have souls then they don’t have rights. Nonhuman animals don’t have souls, though, since they’re nothing but little machines. Therefore, nonhuman animals don’t have rights.”  Paragraph 1 is...
