Introduction: Organizations invest in quality improvement not only to meet customer expectations but also to support their strategic goals and competitive priorities. Two widely adopted philosophies—Total Quality Management (TQM) and Six Sigma—offer structured approaches to managing quality across operations and processes. Organizations seek to create long-term value when they implement quality improvement initiatives associated with TQM and Six-Sigma. Part 1: Compare and contrast the similarities and the differences between Total Quality Management (TQM) and Six Sigma in terms of their approach to quality improvement.
