(10 pts) IF YOU ANSWER THIS ESSAY, LEAVE THE OTHER TWO BELOW BLANK In a review of online data conducted by dating site OkCupid, the people who received the most attention via messages are people with polarizing features (Rudder, 2014). These individuals may have physical features people either love or hate compared to what we typically see as average features being rated as attractive. In another study of the OkCupid site, Rudder (2010) found that when women showed more cleavage and looked flirtatiously yet directly at the camera, they received more messages from men. For men in the study, looking away from the camera, displaying muscles, and posing with an animal increased the attention they received from women. Use research and theory on (heterosexual) attraction to explain these findings.   [HINT: Make sure you explain why polarizing features increased interest regardless of gender and then explain why each of the specific desirable characteristics increased interest for women and for men noted in the dating research.]
