Jacqueline Murphy has been working with a 4th-grade girl, Jesse, on social-emotional-behavioral (SEB) skills for the last four months and dutifully taking progress monitoring data. She is excited to present her data to the IEP team to show the vast improvement that Jesse has been making. Although the parents do not attend the meeting, Jesse’s social worker who is employed by the state does attend the meeting to make sure Jesse is receiving the services agreed to in her IEP and to update the school on Jesse’s current functioning. After Jacqueline presents her progress monitoring data and sets new SEB target goals with collaboration from the team, the social worker compliments Jacqueline and comments that she could really use a Jacqueline at all of her schools. What are the legal and ethical issues involved in this case? What should the LSSP do or have done? (10 points)
