In Judges 13:18-19, the Angel of the Yahweh reveals His name to be wonderful. In so doing, He establishes a clear connection between Himself and Christ.

He who began to be, but eternally , and who to be what he eternally was, began to be what he eternally was not.

In John 8:58, Jesus declared: “before Abraham was, I am.”  In doing so, He could not have made a stronger claim to than this self-identification with Israel’s , God.
